5.0 out of 5 starsEveryone Could Use A Mental Girl February 22, 2018 Format: Kindle EditionVerified Purchase Rebecca Schlaeger gives terrific insight into her world of living with anxiety and fear. She and Mental Girl make a great team; Rebecca observing, questioning and processing the world around her and Mental Girl helping to guide her innermost thoughts and actions. Even being a man i can relate to a lot of what Rebecca is talking about in her book, and want to take my own steps to like myself and not worry so much about what's going on or what others think. I'm already a member of the inside out club lol. * if you're squeamish about cursing, read it with an open mind*
Mental Girl Book Two How To Survive the Internet While Really Trying (and Not take it all so Personally) is on Amazon. Get your copy.
Hers is a balance between a brave, superhero voice (Mental Girl) and a playful one that reminds the reader of how humor can help one move through life’s “pot holes.”
Brave because Schlaeger shares her own struggles with anxiety and social media, and her strategies for moving through it. Humorous because she’s funny as hell, which includes made-up words to stand in for curse words. One of my favorites: Phonaculars (reasonable, healthy phone boundaries to keep one’s mind calm).
A quick, fun, and poignant self-help read that feels like a TED TALK. And I also like the dash of superhero sweet illustrations on cover and at end of the book.
Both Mental Girl Book 1 and 2 will be out in paperback soon. So stay tuned!
I have also written children's books. ( No cursing of course). I am very proud of these books. They are geared to teach others not everyone is alike and everyone should be respected.
