If you guys don't know it...or forgot...I love balconies! I just love how cozy they look. I'm always keeping my eye out for one and then to see what people do with them. I like them simple or all fancied up. Here are a few:
This one is a sweet one. It's simple. I just like the little plant hanging on the railing. It caught my eye.
This one caught my eye too. It was in the back of an apartment building. Again, it's simple. They hung some plants. I'll bet they have a great view of the neighborhood.
Picture way below:
This one is all nestled in a tree. If I wasn't keeping my eyes open, I wouldn't have seen it. Sorry the picture is a little blurry. I can't tell if there are chairs up there. I was trying to be quick about it. Someone was coming out of the apartment. The sweet little plants around it make it look so woodsy. Those little red flowers look like bells.
It rained! Oh we needed the rain. It's so beautiful out. I love the puddles, city looking clean and the wet leaves on the ground. Yesterday was so sunny and clear and then poof! Clouds rolled in and the rain came down! It's still coming. Here are some pics.
Picture above: Yesterday when the sun was still out - I took a picture of this beautiful tree. I wish the garbage cans weren't in the background. I thought to crop it - but then it took away from the tree. So don't look at the cans!
Picture below: Puddles! I love puddles. Well, I won't splash in them because I don't like my feet wet - but I like to look at them. This one was a small lake. I had to walk way around it in the grass. I couldn't walk through it on the sidewalk - or I would have been walking home with wet feet. Something tells me the minute the rain stops, the birds will be splish splashing in there.
Picture way below: I love wet leaves. And the fall leaves are so beautiful.
I just love what I notice and appreciate when I take the time to look.
I'm telling you! When I started to like and love myself - I really began to soak my surroundings in - really notice things - just delight in them.
Here are a few:
Peek a boo sun! I just love when I catch the sun peeking through the trees.
I love a beautiful Rosemary plant. This one was covered in flowers. I have Rosemary plants around our house too. But not cascading over a wall. Oh this is just gorgeous. I love running my fingers Rosemary and taking a sniff.
Picture way below:
This plant is so cool! I bought one recently - just like this - well mine is much smaller. This one is huge - like a big head with hair just flowing down the back. Lovely.
I lean more to old houses, cottages, the vintage look..and I wish my big city wouldn't move forward so fast and make so many changes - taking down some really beautiful old houses and buildings. But it's happening...and new buildings, houses, are going up. Things are changing. I've decided to take a different approach. I want to notice the cool changes. And I have.
Picture above: This is one of the new houses around here. But I think it's very cool. I love the wood. (Hope it's recycled)
Picture below: And next door to that house is this house. The two of them next to each other is really neat. Again, love the wood. (Hope it's recycled)
Picture way below: Another house - which is still old and cool looking added a new fence - with beautiful wood. It's a nice contrast. I really love the look of the shiny wood. (Yep - I'm going to say it - hope it's recycled)
I really love to decorate. My goal is to make a Christmas café right in the house....a fun, jolly place to think happy thoughts. The boxes were pulled out the day after Thanksgiving. I started posting last week with a few outside decorations. I have a wreath up which smells wonderful - AND - now the old friends. Here are some now:
Picture to the left: One of my dear friends gave this tree to us. It's so sweet. So I decorated with a few more lights and a present.
Picture below: Our little Harley shop. This was my husband's. It comes out every year and we find a spot for it.
Picture way below: Here are three vintage elves. These were my grandmothers. They make me smile. Now - I've learned - they need to be kept up high. The cats seem to have taken a liking (or disliking) to them and used them as toys one year. Found cats by the water bowl dunking one of the elves in the water. Hmmmm…..
It's tradition. The day after Thanksgiving I start my Xmas decorating. I got a few treats this week to get me started. I love plants. They remind me to breathe.
Pic above: I started things out with a Rosemary holiday tree from Trader Joes. It's just so sweet and it smells good. I need to get another pot for it.
Pic below: I got a Gump Tree. These are so cute. A friend got one last year - and I just thought it was the cutest thing. It reminds me - to check in with myself when the grumps tickle my brain. It's ok to have "the Grinch" pop in - but treat him with love - and he'll soften up. Another great find at Trader Joe's.
Pic way below: I love a Xmas wreath. This one smells good and it went on the door. Yep - this one is from Trader Joe's too. They have good Xmas stuff.
I am grateful for my family, friends, pets and my life. I am also grateful for having observant eyes. Here are some things I am grateful my eye saw:
Picture above: I love spotting beautiful clouds.
Picture below: I love this wavy grass. It's called Korean grass. It's so cool. I just want to lie down on it and rest.
Picture way below: Can you see the heart? I am grateful I have love in my life.
I wish you all love.
I've been noticing trees that grow over so it looks like a bridge. It's so cool. I clickity claked a few. They're all so different - but each tree has it's own unique beauty. We can learn things from trees. Stand tall. Stand proud. Each one (each of us) makes a difference and has a place here.
The neighbors are up to some cool stuff. Even the trees are working with the changes.
Pic above: One of the neighbors put in a new walk way with brick and small rocks. I think it's really cool. I've been watching him work really hard - and I think his hard work paid off.
Pic below: This cool tree. I would walk under this tree - it was full of leaves and cascaded down - bees would hum in there. And then they buzzed it. And let me tell you I was so sad. I was sad for the bees - where did they get to go? I was sad for the tree. But I look at it now - standing a bit naked - and I admire it's winding trunk. I'm sure with time - it will grow back.
Pic below below: A neighbor painted an accent wall. And chose this fabulous vibrant orange. I love looking at it!
Pic above: I love this iron window in the wall. What a great idea. There is a beautiful front patio on the other side. I can take a peek inside.
Pic below: I see a cool balcony up there. I wonder if they have lovely parties up there. Or just nice morning coffee chats up there.
Pic down down below: Another beautiful apartment. Look at the wood trim. Just lovely.
